1st Grade Break-Up

Okay, so those of you who know Chandler, know he has had a girlfriend since pre-k (Hayley). Yesterday, on our way to Life Group, he informed us that he broke up with his girlfriend at his new school, Sydney.

Here's how the conversation went:

Chandler: I broke up with Sydney today.
Me: I didn't know you were boyfriend/girlfriend.
Chandler: Yes, I asked her to be my girlfriend a while back (which means a week or two ago).
Me: What did you tell her?
Chandler: That I didn't want to be her boyfriend anymore - just friends.
Me: Why did you break up with her (besides the fact that you already have a girlfriend!)
Chandler: She likes rap. I don't like rap. She takes hip-hop lessons. I don't want a girlfriend like that.
Me: Okay.
Chip: So you broke her heart?
Chandler: I don't think so.
Me: So Hayley is still your girlfriend?
Chandler: Yes.

I guess he didn't mind that she lives in Loganville (not close to us), will only be at the school for 2 more years (and then she's moving), or has a pig as a pet, but the hip-hop lessons overwhelmed him! Life sure is grand with an almost 7-yr-old Casanova in the house!

Meanwhile, Jared has proclaimed that girls are mean (at school) and he wants NOTHING to do with them - "except Mommy, Hayley, and Lauren (one of his bffs since he was born)".
